Jack Graham Memorial Trophy This trophy was donated in 1969 by Mrs Alma Graham in memory of her husband Mr. Jack Graham, one of the Geelong Gem & Mineral Club's founding members.
Initially the competition associated with this trophy was conducted over twelve months, for twelve stones cut at monthly intervals, the winner being the competitor with the highest aggregate points at the end of each twelve months
Due to lack of interest this competition lapsed, and has only recently been re-introduced, competition now is for one stone only, cut during the preceding twelve months.
This competition is restricted to members of the Geelong Gem & Mineral Club Inc. The material cut in this competition is nominated each year by the competition organisers.
The entries are judged by judges appointed by the Victorian Gem Clubs Association in accordance with the rules formulated by the Australian Federation of Lapidary & Allied Crafts.
The competition is for standard cabochon, i.e., a stone of circular or oval outline shape when viewed from the top, having a symmetrically curved, domed top, the height of which must not exceed 50% of the shortest axis or diameter of the stone and must be the competitors own work.
This competition is held during the clubs Exhibition which is held in November each year.
